Microsoft Azure: Usage Details (costs)

This check reports the daily costs of the Azure subscription, in total and per Azure service type. On the host of a monitored resource group, it reports only the costs of that resource group.

Cost information has a granularity of one day. The value shows the costs of the previous day (00:00 - 23:59 UTC).

Azure needs up to 72 hours to collect all usage for a day. Until then, the reported value is an estimate: it can rise from one check cycle to the next, and some Azure service types may still have no costs, so their services show no data. Azure does not report when a value is final.

Checkmk stores the value it gets at each check and does not update it later. Since the previous day is always less than 72 hours old, the stored values are estimates and can be lower than the final costs. Keep this in mind when you read the cost graphs or set levels.

You can set levels on this value with the rule "Azure usage details (costs)".

Item

The name of the Azure service type, or 'Summary' for the total costs.

Discovery

One service is created for each Azure service type, plus one summary service. These services are created on the host that runs the special agent and on every host that corresponds to a monitored resource group.
