Veeam: Backup Job (special agent)

Included in All Checkmk editions
Source Code License Open Source
Supported Agents Special

This check monitors the status of backup jobs reported by the Veeam Backup & Replication REST API, collected via the Veeam special agent. It reports the same information as the VEEAM Job service from the Veeam agent plug-in, and additionally reports the time since the last run, the next scheduled run (except for a disabled job), the target repository and the number of objects processed. The summary shows the result and the time since the last run, preceded by the status if the job is running or disabled.

This check is OK if the result of the last run is Success. It is WARN if the result is Warning. It is CRIT if the result is Failed. A job with no result yet, either because it has never run or because a run is currently in progress, is OK. A disabled job is OK by default; the state is configurable in the rule "Veeam: Backup job". Its last result is shown for information only.

Levels can be set for the time since the last run in the rule "Veeam: Backup job"; there are none by default. They are not applied to disabled jobs or to jobs that have never run.

A job that disappears from the API output makes the service UNKNOWN.

Item

The name of the backup job, sanitized: spaces and apostrophes are replaced by underscores.

Discovery

One service is created for each backup job reported by the API, including disabled ones. To leave out disabled jobs, disable this in the rule "Veeam: Backup job discovery".
