Veeam: Backup (special agent, per machine)

Included in All Checkmk editions
Source Code License Open Source
Supported Agents Special

This check monitors, on the protected machine's own host, the result of its last backup as reported by the Veeam Backup & Replication REST API, collected via the Veeam special agent. It reports the same information as the VEEAM Client service from the Veeam agent plug-in.

This check is OK if the result of the last run is Success. It is WARN if the result is Warning. It is CRIT if the result is Failed.

In addition WARN and CRIT levels can be set for the time since the end of the last backup, through the same Veeam: Time since last backup rule the VEEAM Client service uses. The default levels are 30 hours and 2 days. A finished backup without an end time is CRIT.

While a backup is running, its age and duration are not evaluated. Size, speed and duration metrics use the same metric names as the VEEAM Client service, so existing graphs and thresholds carry over.

Item

The name of the backup job, sanitized: spaces and apostrophes are replaced by underscores.

Discovery

One service is created for each backup job that has processed this machine.
