This check monitors the state of the Continuous Data Protection (CDP) policies of Veeam Backup & Replication, the result of their last run and the time of their next run. If the policy is not disabled, the check also monitors the time since the last CDP sync. This is the time of the oldest of the latest restore points of all replicas of the policy, since the replica lagging behind the most determines the achieved RPO.

In order to carry out the check, the Veeam agent plugin needs to be installed on the backup server. See special instructions in the comment section of the two Veeam agent plug-in scripts on how to install the scripts.

- The policy state is OK if it is InitialSync, Running or Disabled, CRIT if it is Failed or Stopped and UNKNOWN otherwise.

- The result of the last run is OK if it is Success, WARN if it is Warning, CRIT if it is Failed and UNKNOWN for any other value. For disabled policies, it is only shown in the details and always OK.

- The time since the last CDP sync goes WARN if it lies in the future.

You can also configure upper thresholds for the time since the last CDP sync. The defaults are WARN: 1 day 6 hours and CRIT: 2 days.

Older versions of the agent plugin do not send the result of the last run and the time of the last CDP sync. In this case, only the policy state and the time of the next run are shown.

Discovery

One service is created for each CDP job created by the Veeam tool, including disabled ones. To leave out disabled jobs, disable this in the rule "Veeam: CDP job discovery".
