Veeam: Restore points

Included in All Checkmk editions
Source Code License Open Source
Supported Agents Special

This check monitors the restore points of a backup object (e.g. a virtual machine) of a Veeam Backup & Replication server, collected via the Veeam special agent. It reports the number of restore points, the age of the newest one, the platform, the object type, the type of the newest restore point and the malware status.

This check is CRIT if the object has no restore point at all, since it cannot be recovered. WARN and CRIT levels can be set for the age of the newest restore point (default: 30 and 48 hours).

The malware status is the worst one across all restore points of the object: OK if clean or informative, WARN if suspicious, CRIT if infected and UNKNOWN for any other value. This mapping is not configurable.

Item

The platform and the name of the backup object, e.g. VMware - vm-1. The name alone if the platform is unknown.

Discovery

One service is created for each backup object reported by the API.
