Veeam: Scale-out repository

Included in All Checkmk editions
Source Code License Open Source
Supported Agents Special

This check monitors a scale-out backup repository of a Veeam Backup & Replication server, collected via the Veeam special agent. It reports the number of configured performance extents and their statuses, the description, whether the capacity tier and archive tier are configured and enabled, and the placement policy.

This check does not report capacity. A scale-out repository has no capacity of its own; capacity lives on its extents, which appear as separate Backup repository services.

Each performance extent can report zero or more statuses at the same time. Normal, Pending and Sealed are OK by default. Evacuate, Maintenance, ResyncRequired and TenantEvacuating are WARN by default. Every status is individually configurable. An unrecognised status makes the extent UNKNOWN. The service state is the worst state of all its extents.

A scale-out repository with no performance extents configured is WARN by default; this is also configurable.

Item

The name of the scale-out repository.

Discovery

One service is created for each scale-out repository reported by the API.
