The service AWS/EBS Limits checks the IO operations per second (IOPS) of Provisioned IOPS SSD volumes (io1 and io2) against the AWS limits. Previously, it reported the storage of these volumes in GiB instead of their IOPS. The reported usage was therefore far too low and hardly ever reached your warning or critical levels.
The service now reports the sum of the provisioned IOPS of all io1 and
io2 volumes. After the update, the reported values are much higher. The
service may change to WARN or CRIT if your volumes come close to
the limit.
