Previous versions of the appliance firmware were only compatible with legacy BIOS booting. All devices were configured to boot using the legacy BIOS. As of version 1.7.0, the appliance is now compatible with UEFI booting.
All devices which have been installed with previous versions and just updated to the new version will continue using the legacy BIOS. No manual intervention is required.
Devices installed with 1.7.0 or later only support UEFI booting as of now. This means that all devices have to be changed to UEFI booting in order to be able to boot the appliance firmware version 1.7.0.
This means, in case a device needs to be reinstalled from scratch with 1.7.0 by the appliance support team, then the BIOS settings needs to be changed to UEFI booting.
