Since Debian 12, the default password hashing algorithm for local users
isyescrypt
. Existing users continue to work, but to take advantage
of the improved cryptography, you might want to re-set the passwords you use
to log in as the root user or site users via SSH. This can be done
through the console for the root user and through the webconf
in the Site management for site users, which have login via SSH enabled.
