In the past /var/log/syslog was not visible in Checkmk, if you monitored the appliance itself. With this Werk we add a default configuration, which will send relevant messages to Checkmk.
You need to discover the service in Checkmk to enable the monitoring. There are default rules in place, but there might still be messages, which are irrelevant. We will improve this in the future, step by step. Let us know, what you think.
