Simon will then show everything you need to know in order to write automated tests for web applications (Playwright/Selenium) and, on the other hand, non-web GUI applications (image pattern recognition). You will also be demonstrated the most important features of Robotmk like discovery level, handling of failed tests, setting thresholds and much more.

In this workshop, security expert Ralf will discuss the Checkmk architecture in the context of security and will explain and demonstrate the secure setup of a Checkmk installation. The best security practices concerning the Checkmk agent connection, distributed configuration, access via SNMP and special agents, SSL/TLS connections to VMware and LDAP, the certificate store and the password store will be covered by this workshop. Checkmk shows its strengths especially when monitoring larger, distributed IT environments with tens of thousands of hosts. However, especially in large and complex environments, it is often helpful to understand what effects certain configurations can have on performance. This makes it easier to avoid potential performance bottlenecks at an early stage or to fix existing problems. In this workshop, we will dive into the core of Checkmk and give you insights into the inner mechanisms of Checkmk.

Prerequisites: Several years of deep experience in Checkmk operation and configuration using the CMC (Microcore), basic understanding of the Checkmk architecture and code

Duration: 1/2 day

Language: German in the morning and in the afternoon

FAQ

The conference's main language is English due to the high demand experienced over the past years. There will be professional German simulation translation at the conference venue for participants wishing to follow the content in German.

Some workshops will be held in both English and German, while others are only offered in one language. Carefully check the language indication in the booking process.

The timezone is Central European Time (CET).

Yes, we are continuously updating this website page once further information becomes available.

After clicking 'book', you will end up on the booking page, where you first decide on how many nights (2, 1, 0) you want to add to your conference ticket. Afterwards, you can select one of the following combinations:

A) 1 workshop full day,

B) 1 workshop half day in the morning,

C) 1 workshop half day in the morning and 1 half day in the afternoon,

D) 1 workshop half day in the afternoon.

Some workshops will take place only once per day, others will be held several times and in parallel. Please watch the language indication and, for example, do not book two half-day workshops in the morning.

To ensure a high quality, the number of participants in the workshops is limited, with individual slots available on a 'first come, first served' basis. If a workshop is sold out, it can no longer be selected.

The tickets for the online part of the conference will be distributed by e-mail after successful registration. For the physical conference, you will get lanyards with a badge and your name on at the first day in Munich. More details will follow via e-mail communication.

The goodie bags will be handed out to you on the first day of the conference. You will receive it together with your badge, which is your personal entry card. Further information will be sent to all participants via e-mail.

More detailed access information will be sent via e-mail latest one day before the conference.

After successful selection of conference ticket (and optionally workshop) you will receive the booking confirmation per e-mail. Payments by giropay, Visa, Mastercard or American Express are supported. After this online payment, you will get your invoice via e-mail. If you are based in Germany, you can additionally pay by invoice.

All presentations will be recorded, except for the workshops on day 3 of the CMK8.

As of writing (Dec 2021), the event is planned as an on-site conference in compliance wit the 2G plus regulations. This means for you, the participation requires the following:

  • Vaccinated (not longer than 9 months ago) or recovered (not longer than 6 months ago)
  • Official Covid-19 test (max. 24 hours for an official rapid antigen test and 48 hours for a PCR test).

Before entering the event area, the above two certificates will be required, as well as your ID. An official Covid-19 test can either be brought with you already or executed at the conference location after having booked a testing slot. More information on this will follow four weeks before the event.

Depending on the status of the Bavarian 'Krankenhausampel', the event will follow the 2G or the 2G plus rules. With positive development and the possible switch to the 'green light', the hygiene concept can be downgraded from 2G plus to 2G.

Since the regulations are frequently changing, we reserve the right to adapt our hygiene concept if necessary. Possible changes and further details can be found in the general event terms and conditions. Please note that the "vaccinated" and "recovered" criteria also align with the most recent official definitions and are subject to constant change.

We apologize for the inconvenience. However, this is the only way we can ensure a safe conference for you and for us.

For attending the on-site conference, you need to be either Covid-19 vaccinated or recovered. In addition, you are required to do an official rapid test that is negative. See question above.

If you do not meet these requirements, we warmly invite you to participate in the livestreamed parts of the event in the afternoon (CET). For these, you can register for free and join remotely. You can find all agenda points that are live-streamed via the recording icon in the agenda.

Currently (as of December 2021), there are several, free of charge, locations for Corona rapid tests, which are within walking distance from the Novotel and from the conference venue Paulaner am Nockherberg. We update this list regularly, and also ask everyone affected to inform themselves shortly before the conference and to book an appointment if necessary.

  • divomed test center - Nockherberg (Hochstraße 77, 81541 Munich)
  • Gasteig Foyer des Carl Orff Saals (Rosenheimer Straße 5, 81667 Munich)
  • Hofbräukeller Wiener Platz (Innere Wiener Straße 19, 81667 Munich)
