Please introduce yourself briefly.

My name is Katja. I have over 15 years of experience in the IT industry and I am working as Senior Legal Counsel / Syndikusrechtsanwältin at Checkmk. I am specialized in IT law and legal tech. My free time I spend with my family, ideally exploring the mountains.

What made you decide to join Checkmk?

Joining an aspiring company and working alongside a dedicated team has always been my goal. I am passionate about creating efficient processes and enjoy the unique challenge of shaping our legal department.

What does your working day look like?

My workday is defined by cross-functional collaboration and the translation of complex legal frameworks into pragmatic business advantages. I act as a strategic partner to our Sales organization, navigating the nuances of subscription and service contracts, and providing counsel to Management on corporate decisions.

I also maintain a vital partnership with our Information Security team, aligning legal standards with technical excellence. Whether I am architecting new legal processes or resolving complex compliance inquiries, I find deep professional satisfaction in supporting that the law serves as a foundation for our commercial success.

What fascinates you most about your job at Checkmk?

At Checkmk, I am fascinated by the energy of a goal-orientated team that handles projects with dedication and a high sense of responsibility. My role offers the perfect balance of challenging legal work and a versatile range of tasks. Being part of the journey of Checkmk and witnessing our collective growth is what motivates me every day.

What is most important to you in your work life?

The collaborative spirit of my team and colleagues. I especially value that we maintain a great sense of humor and have fun together, even when tackling complex topics.
