The Main Dashboard
Dashboards provide an overview over a group or all monitored hosts. You can create new dashboards with a graphical editor.
List of services on a host
On every host a group of 'services' is monitored. Each of these has a status and can also measure values. Services are largely configured automatically.
Services are automatically configured with a standard configuration, which you can easily adapt. More than 1500 check plugins are already part of Checkmk.
Using a rule set you can define who is to be notified, and when. Using these rules you can also implement complex notification scenarios. Users can customize their individual notifications.
Checkmk employs a sophisticated system to collect and process time-series-based metrics. They are collected and stored over a period of several years.
Checkmk can track information of the hardware and software installed on your hosts (inventory) – also via SNMP. Interfaces enable the handover to CMDBs.
Compute the precise availabilities of hosts or services over past time horizons. A multitude of configuration options influences how the computation is performed.
Checkmk provides a module for the efficient processing of events such as SNMP-traps, syslog messages or log file entries: the Event Console.
The reporting module provides well structured pdf documents with information from the past or presence. They can regularly and automatically be delivered via email.
With the integrated NagVis visualization tool, system states can be shown in maps or logic diagrams.
With the Business Intelligence (BI) module you can define dependencies and thus monitoring the status of complex applications – including their availability.
User profiles define the permissions for viewing and configuring different objects. Users can be loaded from Active Directory or other LDAP directories.
Monitoring of distributed sites or independent networks with one central or site-specific configurations. Integration of everything in one view.
Due to its efficient architecture, Checkmk scales extremely well. It can centrally monitor more than a million devices. Small sites can be monitored with very limited resource usage.
In Checkmk almost everything can be customized. For example, the administration of your own or third party extension packages can be easily done via the GUI.
Automated agent updates
Checkmk can ensure that agents on hosts can be kept up-to-date via automated updates. It can also distribute plug-ins and configurations rule-based to the right hosts.
