Checkmk joins the Robot Framework Foundation

Munich, November 29, 2023 – Checkmk has extended its commitment to end-to-end test automation by becoming an official member of the Robot Framework Foundation. Together with 55 companies worldwide, the monitoring specialist supports the professional and rapid development of the tool and collectively ensures that the results will continue to be available to the community in the spirit of Open Source.

With Robotmk, Checkmk has been offering an extension package via the Exchange since 2020, which can be used to integrate Robot Framework test results into Checkmk. Originally developed by Simon Meggle, the plug-in has been enhanced with numerous features and has been downloaded over 15,000 times. Starting with Checkmk version 2.3, Robotmk v2 will be available as a Synthetic Monitoring module in Checkmk.

Robot Framework

The Python-based framework can be used across platforms and applications for a variety of automation tasks (e.g., website testing and native applications such as SAP). More than 40 libraries provide keywords that allow tests to be written in a language that even non-developers can understand.

Robot Framework was originally developed in 2005 for Nokia Siemens Networks. Since then, it has become an open-source project with a growing community of more than 12,000 supporters worldwide.
