Hi Antonia, thanks for answering the questions and taking the time. You joined Checkmk in October 2022 after a successful career in event and trade management, where you met Checkmk for one of our conference.

Can you please introduce yourself briefly?

I'm Antonia and I am working for Checkmk since Oct. 2022. I started my working "career" in advertising, studied printing technology and worked a (very) long time as a production manager (print and promotion material). I spent 14 years freelancing for a large number of companies. In this function I organized trade fairs and events, including all the equipment in- and outdoor (set-ups, furniture, crockery, posters, etc.). In the course of these activities I met Checkmk and my current team lead, to equip one of the conferences.

What made you decide to join Checkmk? How did you come to Checkmk?

My wonderful team lead, the team and my tasks. I have been asked to join Checkmk, which I thought was wonderful. However, people usually become aware of Checkmk through our advertisements and social media references.

What are your tasks as a Workplace Manager and how does your typical work day look like?

I am responsible for the furnishing of all office and common rooms, acoustic optimization and lighting installation according to ergonomic specifications, as well as the search for new office space and manage rental contracts.

I have to make sure that everything is in order, regardless of whether the kitchen rooms, toilets or corridors, etc. I am also responsible for safety at work. Since I supervise different tasks, every working day is a little different.

How do you organize your work within the team?

We meet twice a week to inform each other about our to-do's and how we plan to implement them. We discuss new tasks and optimize internal processes. Our team takes care of the reception, telephone calls, accounting, billings of trainings, accounts receivable management, the well-being of all colleagues and many more.

What tools/technologies do you work with in your team?

We all work most time on the laptop (Windows, Slack, Google), but I use handcraft-tools (for example: changing a light bulb or attaching the safety instructions) sometimes, too.

What is most important to you in your work life?

My wonderful team and all tasks around the furnishing of the office spaces. I very much enjoy new challenges.

Do you remember a particularly interesting, exciting or beautiful experience you had at Checkmk? If so, can you tell us about it?

It was a more than warm welcome at my start and everyone I met so far was very nice and helpful. The conference was most exciting and informative. Whenever there are big meetings or events, I feel comfortable and within a very nice group, no matter how many we are. The greatest experience is the appreciation one receives!
